First of all, Its great to have TFL back. You don't miss the water till the well goes dry. Great job in getting it up and running guys...thanks for the updates Rich.
Some of you may rember I had a problem with the nickle peeling off of my brand new SIG 229 Two-tone. Acording to SIG it was receaved on January 11th. I called the next month to check on it and the person I talked to said it had beed shipped out to be refinished and should be back in my hands about the first of March. I called today to check on it and they first said it had never been receaved. When they finaly found it, they said it had been sitting on the shelf unopened since it was receaved. Needless to say, I was a little miffed that the last person had lied to me. The person I was talking to seemed appoligetic, but kept saying there was nothing he could do about the goof-up. Yes there is...fix it and send it back..Like yesterday (and a t-shirt or hat would be a nice 'sorry' gift)!!! He started telling me that it would be about 4 more weeks for them to fix it and that he would send it out to be refinished Monday. I dont think so. They have already screwed up this many times, I wasnt about to give them 4 more weeks to mess up. Besides, they had even written the wrong repairs on the work order. They had written that frame wear was the problem. I wrote in the letter that I sent with the gun that the problem was finish peeling on the slide. The gun only had 100 rounds through it and the frame looked brand new...where as the slide had fingernail clipping size chunks missing finish. That should have been obvious. So, he agreed to replace the slide and send it back monday. He said I chould have it by Friday of next week, but I have heard that before. Well see.
Jason
P.S. you know, I wouldnt have been quite as upset if it hadnt been for the 'oh well, we goofed' attitude. For peets sake, this is a carry gun, and an $800 one at that.
