Mods: Not sure where this goes, since its a pistol? its a carbine? please move to a different section if more appropriate.

So Sig came out with something, I'm really not even sure what this falls under. unlike similar carbine mods where the slide and barrel are replaced along with adding a stock etc, the entire assembled pistol is put into a frame to give it a carbine profile. What do you all think the ATF will think of these? Does it become a SBR?

It is interesting that they designed it to accept railed pistols of all manufacturers .

That... Is... Awesome! Seems like that would turn a pistol into an amazing home defense/pdw. I can see this somehow being blocked by antis.

As it is I wouldn't think it would be a sbr. If it was then any other pistol/carbine conversion would be too. And I see the ones that take 1911 franes at gunshows all the time. Give it time though.

The one with the wire stock would make it a SBR. Otherwise it's just a rail system and is therefore un-regulated.

ehh...im not seeing a point to this.

but does anyone want to make the first thread about the sig p224?
(sorry off topic)

what does this give you? added weight for increased recoil control? seems about it to me.

aside from a whole bunch of additional rails to attach stuff to, yeah recoil management via forward grip, and stock are about all it seems to bring to the party.
