Sig alloy frame: Finish durability

I was picking up my new Glock 20 today and noticed a very nice 2 tone Sig 228 in the case. I immediatly started thinking about it for next month. I wouldnt have thought anything about the finish durability, but they also had a 226 "factory test" gun with a pretty knicked up frame. the slide still looked fairly new, but the frame was marred up to no end.
To anyone with blued alloy framed SIG's, do the frames knick easily, or if I avoid shooting it with rings on or tossing it across parking lots will it be OK.

Any manufactuer's aluminum frame will show nick's,
ding's, scratch'es etc. very easily; this problem is
not limited to Sig's. In most likely hood, the
P226 was not taken care of properly while under
going factory test's.:( The two-tone P228 is a
handsome devil, and should out last the user.
I have carried a standard, blue P220 .45 for
year's; and she shows no sign's of wear.:D

I have a P-229 with about 6,000 rounds through it. Not sure if it is blued or Nitron or what. It's black, what can I say?

Not one nick on the frame except for one spot on the grip.

Take off your rings if you want to avoid shiney spots.

Slide still looks great, too, other than a tiny bit of holster wear at the muzzle.

I do try my best not to bang up my guns, but my stainless stuff seems to pick up little scratches and marring regardless. I am kind of suprised that the SIG looks as good as it does after the amount of use it has seen.
