Sig 938

I picked one out at a show today. It is black with rosewood grips. It matches my P238. The price I thought was decent at $609. Have they worked all the bugs out of these? I heard the trigger is not very nice. It probably only comes with one mag and they are pricey. Any info appreciated.

I told the guy if my wife wasn't with me it would be mine. I looked at a Ruger LC9s as well. Both would be used as CC pieces.

I have one. The trigger is not very good. Seems to be very reliable. Have not had any failures to date. Be very careful if you fieldstrip. It is easy to screw things up with the little spring under the safety. Don't remember what I paid for it.

You can improve the trigger with a hammer spring from Galloway Precision. They also have non-grooved trigger.

They have resolved most of the bugs. I love them and have 3, no failures in 4 range trips.

This is the story of the three little Sigs.

The first little Sig built his grips out of box elder burl.
The second little Sig built his grips out of cocobolo.
The third little Sig built his grips out of curly white oak.

I have the P938 and the P238. I have about 350 rounds through the 938 and about 150 through the 238. No problems with either Sigs. Don't care for the trigger on either pistol but they are for SD.

I'm not aware of any bugs in the P938.

Mine (had it a couple years or so now) has been absolutely fantastic. No failures, no problems. The trigger could benefit from being a little lighter and kinder to the pad of my finger but the gun itself is accurate and reliable. $609 is a great price for one.

The price caught my attention because online this piece was over $700 plus a transfer. Might buy this weekend if still available. I'am still trying to get use to the idea of carying "cocked and locked"

Both my 938 and 238 have shot flawlessly from day one, I was not expecting any " bugs" and certainly did not receive any. Both of my pistols came with two magazines, the 938 has flat and extended floorplates where the 238 has standard flat ones, since I never carry extra mags my spares were left to languish in the box (that ought to be good for a few posts on extra mag carry). Both pistols are totally concealable and comfortable with inside the waist band holsters and one is normally with me constantly. I do transition to a M&P Bodyguard in a pocket while wearing bib overalls as I have yet to find a place to hang a holster. PSA has had 938's on sale lately for $499.

We have two P938's and they shoot great. Love the size, weight, and all metal construction. Had both triggers worked on by the gunsmith and not only are the triggers smooth with a crisp release but trigger pull reduced from 7.5lb (on both) to 5.25lb and 5.5lb.

My p938 has been my carry pistol for about a year now. Before that I carried a S&W 3913 (still do sometimes).

The Sig is a fantastic pistol and I have over 3K rounds thru it at this point. The only problem I've had was a broken extractor at about 1,500 rounds. I didn't notice it 'till I was cleaning because it never malfunctioned. I took a look at the rental P938 at my range and that extractor was broken too but they told me it still works.

I replaced mine anyway. Could have sent it in but just got the part. Had it in 4 days and I was back in action.

The 938 and the 238 are both on the plus side of the ledger in my book.

Any reservations I had about single action pocket holster carry were quickly dispelled. The safety is very resistant to unintended release and the relatively heavy trigger pull is a added comfort (to me) for pocket holster carry.

I think it is viewed by most as an up close and personal "always with me" piece, so a lighter trigger in that role is not a plus for me.

The easily visible night sights are excellent and very welcome on such a compact semiautomatic.

PSA currently has the P938 SAS on sale for $499.99. That is the best price I've seen, and I would have one ordered already if I hadn't just got one of their 92S deals. So many guns, so little cash.

Anyone sitting on the fence best get their wallet out for that SAS Palmetto State Armory deal for $499, they sell out quickly.

Awesome price! I'am not a two tone kind of guy though. If it was black with rosewood I would be off the fence. Thanks or the tip
