Sig 2340 mag problem

I could use a little help. I've owned a 2340 (.40) for about 2 years and cleaned the mags last week. I disassembled, cleaned with hoppes, applied very slight amount of break free and let dry overnight. When i went to the range my #1 (of 3)mag seemed to jam while the other 2 were fine. Gun was clean. A guy on the range said to disassemble my mags and compare the spring lengths. If #1 is shorter, he said to stretch the mags at each bend just a little bit. He also said this is a common problem after cleaning your mags and you have to adjust the springs? Is this true, i've never heard of such a thing? Any suggestions? Thanks for your help?

I have never had to adjust my magazine springs after cleaning. I have replaced springs that get worn out, but replacement is dependant on spring length. You may just need to buy some replacement magazine springs. Streching springs is a short lived, temporary fix.

BTW, never listen to that guy again.
