First, let me say that I shouldn't have opened this thread. I hadn't heard of the P229c before this thread. It got me doing some internet research. Apparently it is the P229 frame (not the P224 frame) with the P224 barrel and slide (it is the P229c, the c is for Carry, so it is the same concept of their other "Carry" series pistols- the full frame and compact slide/barrel). I am a big fan of the intermediate size pistol (CZ P01, 1911 Commander and Officer, G19 size guns), and the P229 is a good one, but maybe a tad bit on the big side for these guns. The smaller slide on the P229 frame and this may be a perfect gun for me. I shouldn't have opened this thread, I now have another gun on my must have list...
My first thought was that the P224 holster wouldn't work because a P229 frame is larger than the P224. Apparently, people with the P229c have used P224 holsters and they fit fine. The P224 is a cut down version of the P229, and apparently, mostly cut down in height, not length, so the holster works. That said, a P229 holster will probably work, but have a lot of unused space since it is built for a longer slide.
My search on the gun also found that it isn't made anymore. It appears that it was released about 2 years ago, was most available about a year ago, but is no longer catalogued by SIG. So, if I want one, I may have to get on the ball and find one soon. So, you put a rare, out of production/limited production gun on my must have list. Man, that's rough.
Oh, and welcome to TFL.
