I have a sig 229 Leagon in 9 mm with a 15 round mag my daily carry gun would you carry a extra mag with a 15 round capacity. Thank you.

Legion. And yes. The greatest point of failure in a semiautomatic magazine fed weapon is the magazine. Failures can happen. You may not need the rounds, but it doesn't hurt to have more and if you find yourself dealing with a malfunction beyond a tap, rack, bang the ability to strip the magazine and put in a fresh one is something you want.

I always carry an extra mag, just like carrying a speed strip with a revolver. It does not take up much room and you never know when you may need it regardless of the reason why.

I've carried a P229 DAK SAS in 357 SIG for a decade now ... and I've invested in a number of extra mags, in addition to the two that came with the pistol, because I actually own three P229s in 40/357.

When I carry, I carry with one in the well and two on my belt for a total of three mags, 36 rounds +1 in the pipe.

It's a Galco ... I forget which one. It's far more worn these days than it was when I took that picture seven or eight years ago. But it's held up really well - better than some of the belts I've run through it over the years.

Lemme see ... the back of it says it is a:

Galco
H619T
FL250

Don't ignore that that tap, rack and bang practice, either.
It could make at least as much difference to your survival as an extra magazine.

If you have the capability to carry an extra mag why not. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it
