Sig 229 Design Flaw?

I found a few posts on the Sig forum related to slide rail wear on the Sig 229. I've got one of these on layaway, and I don't know enough about Sigs to determine if it's a common problem or unique to these people's guns. Have any of you pistoleros heard of any premature or excessive slide rail wear problems with these guns? Any input is apprecaited!

An unarmed man is a subject.

I have three Sigs. A 226, 228 and a 239. I have shoit thousands of rounds through each of them and noticed no excessive wear.

The frame and slide will show wear. There is no way to avoid it as they are moving parts. The key is does it affect reliability and accuracy. The answer is no it does not.

Keep the gun clean and well lubricated and you will not be able to shoot it enough to wear it out.

Enjoy

As most people will tell you, slide wear is part of break-in and will stop at around 500 rounds. Nothing to worry about.

No, it's not a flaw. Any pistol with tight tolerances will show wear. This will stop after the slide and frame have formed to each other. Keep the pistol lubed and enjoy it.

So many pistols, so little money.
