Is this a decent summer combo? I saw 135 for the first time at range. I really havent heard much about it. I usually tote the 228 with 124 but I thougt the 135 might serve just as well.
Its a fine load, but I would choose the Cor Bon 115 grain +p load (or Remington's 115 +p load) in that order. The Hydra Shoks work best in .40 and .45 caliber according to the latest Marshall studies--I am assuming your P228 is 9mm?

But of course it is a nine. p228 only come in 9. Best gun i own. Fits my hand and I shoot like a champ with it. I don't care for CorBons. Hum Remington GS.

Glen220 over on AOL Gun Talk claims the 228 came in .40 for a brief period. I don't know the answer either way but I wanted to confirm yours was a 9mm just in case Glen is correct (he is a Sig Armeror so there is a decent chance he might be right). All I know is that my Sig 228 is also a 9mm and I like it a lot. I think the Remington would make a good load for you since you don't like the Cor Bons.
Wow I never heard of 228 in 40. I thought the 229 was the first 40 SIG produced. It was my understanding that the 229 was 228 with a slide modified especialy to fire 40.
Very interesting

I agree (I only see 9mm Sigs too). But the .40 228 Sigs is just Glen's opinion. He could be wrong!

Maybe SIG Sauer used P228s in .40 in the early stages of development. I doubt they ever mass produced such a pistol much less sold it. The .40 has zip to it, and I doubt the stamped slide of the P228 could take the pounding. Apparently SIG Sauer thought likewise and that's why they produced the heavier stainless slide for the P229.

"Get yourself a Lorcin and lose that nickel plated sissy pistol."
That's nothing. A local gun shop has a SIG P228 in 357SIG for sale according to their web site.
