Sig 225 Price?

Hello all. I was at a local Pawnshop today and was pleasantly surprised to see a Sig 225 for sale. It was in very good condition with little wear. It also had four magazines with it. They were asking $625. Now, as it is a Pawnshop I should/might be able to talk them down a little. This price seems a little high to me as Ky imports had them recently for 350.00. Is this a good deal? If not what price should I try to talk them down to? Thanks for the info in advance.;)

Go to classified section on www.sigforum.com.

Some one is offering a full house custom 225 for less than $600. He has two with consecutive serial numbers that have had the full boat on them by Arizona Response Systems. This has got to be the best deal on the internet. The custom work is easily worth 3-400 dollars.

My local shop has one in the case, begging to go home with somebody. Price is $525. And nobody will touch it. So your pawnshop price is outrageous. Now, for a 229, 220, or 228, the price might be competitive. BTW, my dealer says he'll knock off $25 if I buy the 225 he has (I spend alot of money in his shop). So, about $550 is the upper limit on this (if you really like it), but it can be had for $500 if you look around. Incidentally, I believe cdnninvestments.com has some of these for under $500. You can't browse guns online, but they do give you a number you can call. If you want the gun I suggest working something out through a local dealer. Some places, and cdnn may be one of them, will let you pay the price and shipping on the gun and just run the transfer through an FFL. They will need an ink signed copy of the FFL. The FFL should be able to do the transfer for $25 max. Anybody wants more, go somewhere else.

AuctionArms.com and GunBroker.com both have FFL lists for transfers, most post their prices.

Avoid those asking for tax on the purchase price of the gun or a percentage of the price. Both are a major scam that I'd drive a ways to avoid.

I see them in my area at the gun shows for $400-$450. And the gun show prices are usually easy to beat! Paid $400 for the last one I bought about 3 months ago. It has 2 clips and is in good shape. Great shooting pistol and great for carry but DON'T PAY OVER $500 AT MOST!!!!

Even by New York standards, that's expensive. I picked up a NIB P225 in-state for $460 about a month and a half ago. I've seen them for as little as $450 in SGN and on the web.

Keep looking. I believe Keislers has some in their SGN ad this week.

If it was a basic blued 225, the price is too high.

K-kote, night sights, 4 mags...well, 425 is not much for that.
