Looking to buy a new Sig 225 9mm but I can't seem to find any around. Do they still make this model and does anyone know who has them?

I just picked up a brand spanking new one from fsguns.com in MA. It is MA-compliant, which means a hidden serial number (easily found!) and a loaded-chamber indicator (small hole in hood of chamber). the proof marks indicate it was tested in 2001 in Germany.

I picked it up for $599 during last months sale, when an additional 2 mags and other sundries were thrown in for free.

You can also check out gunweb.com. I've seen NIB 225's ranging from $500 to $600.

It's an outstanding pistol in every regard.

If you don't mind a slightly used one, my roomie's gun shop has one with the original green box, spare mag, manuals and test target in cherry condition for $469.

If you call and get Tamara, maybe she can be talked into a TFL discount. :) The shop is located in Knoxville, TN.

The local hardware/gun store has a brand new one in the case for somewhere around $550. (I don't really remember, but I know they had it priced higher than the P228 $499.) The trouble is I'm in TX and you're in NH. I like the P5 more.

I heard the previous owner of that 225 couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with it.

Yeah, accuracy was atrocious. A lousy 2" group at 25 yards, offhand, was all the previous owner could manage with it. :)

I bought a new P225 from the Pistol Parlour in Mesa a couple of months ago. It was proofed in Germany this year, so I am confident that they are still in production.;)

Try Mike Middleton from Precision Armory @ 281-379-6881. I think he may have a few for about $400. He may some other interesting goodies as well. Give him a call.

The 225 is definitely still in production! I just bought another one and it is proofed "AB" which is 2001. Brand spankin' new, baby! It would be a mistake for SIG to stop producing this marvelous tack-driver.

I paid $519 IN CALIFORNIA. Guns are expensive in California. If you don't live in Cali, NY, NJ or Mass you should be able to do much better than me. But definitely get yourself a new 225. Thank goodness they are still making them.

lendringser...

I knew that you had a pretty serious wheelgun-jones, but not bad enough that you would sell/trade a P225 to fuel it.

Seek help while there's still time. LOL!
