SIG 220 Mec-Gar mags

I did a search on this board for 8 round SIG 220 mags. Several people recommended Mec-Gar mags but I have had zero, zilch, nada, no luck what so freaking ever finding any. I have doubts they exist. I called Midway and they do not carry them anymore. Midway referred me to someone else, Forrest something, and that was a bust too. The only 8 rounders I can find are of the ProMag make and I refuse to make that mistake again.

They exist, alright, but the only place you're going to find them is on some gunshop shelf or at a gun show.

Mec-Gar has entered into an exclusive production agreement with SIG, and will be the sole supplier of SIG magazines. They were previously one of the main suppliers. They will no longer make magazines for SIG under their own name.

You can find them, but you'll have to look hard.

Try Nick Crawford the owner of MAGTEK. 915-690-0125 His dad owns CDNN so he has a good place to look to find what you need. Tell him Jeff from Austin says hi.

I have had good luck with Pachmayr mags in my 220. Someone told me that those are in fact made by MecGar, but I don't know if that is true or not.

I've never seen the mecgar 8rd mags, just the 7rd ones. The 8rd ones that I have are the new factory made by mecgar. Awsome mag. Very different than the old sig mags and different than the old mecgars. Plastic follower that is just sweet. No bump on the follower to seat the first round. just a smooth flat follower top and it sits up higher in near the top of the feed lips. Locks the slide for sure on that last one. 8 holes numbered off on both sides and nickle plated I think...could be stainless, wait let me get the magnet...I think it's stainless. Stamped with "made in italy" on one side and the other is stamped: Sig Sauer P220-1 45. A 7rd one that came with my 29xxxx p220 is stampted similar but the 7 rounds are not marked off...just the holes on both sides. The last thing is that the 8rd mag has the plastic mag floor. They were expensive from the factory but worth the money($40 per). Had to get a good set of 5 for safe keeping and one to beat the hell out of. Compare the three versions that I have and I'll rely on the new mecgar factories. The other's never gave me a problem but I'm just going to use them for the range. Git em!
