I need to find a value of a Sig 220. It is .45 caliber and commissioned by Lew Horton. Its marked as 1 of 2000 guns in this issue. Its n.i.b., unfired, with all original box and papers. Any help as to a value of this firearm would be appreciated.

Thanks

wood dog,
Does it have proof marks on the bottom of the slide in the front? If so, that will indicate when it was proofed. Look for two letters and that is when it was proofed in Germany. If it doesn't have proof marks it is a new gun that was assembled here.

The gun may have special value to a Sig collector, but, the 22nd edition of "The BlueBook of Gun Values" makes no distinction and does not list a special value for the Lew Horton gun. The value of a 100% blued P220 is listed as $670. Different finishes will add:
$41 for nickel slide
$70 for total nickel gun

Will get you the date codes if it was proofed in Germany.

Some of the Sigphiles will jump in and be able to give you more details than I can.
