Side x Side question...

At my gunshop, they mainly have 28 and 20 guages. Is this just my gunshop or normal for a SxS? The Kimber I like comes in 20 and 16 guage. Why is 16 the largest guage?

And it looked like from across the counter that most had 2 triggers? Normal?

I should have asked at the gunshop but figured I can more info here than from 1 person behind the counter.

thx

It looks like Kimber offers two types of shotguns. Traditional Side X Side and Over/Under models. The S X S is a traditional bird gun is lightweight and only comes in smaller gauges. Most S X S shotguns I have seen and shot all come with traditional double triggers.

Here's a link to Kimber's shotguns:

What he has in stock probably reflects what sells in the area.
And the same would go for the Kimbers offering, they make it in what they feel would sell the best for the intended use. I haven't seen a 16ga. anything around here in a long time. And I agree, two triggers are common.
