Our CAS shooting group at the Sportsmans Club just held a monumental event!
They had a special (no points) .22 Rimfire shoot! Guns were limited to revolvers and lever action rifles but all the flavor was there! The excitement of the ringing of steel andthe use of real ammo made the event a thing of beauty!
For so long, so many wanted to try the Sport and feel the excitement of cleaning a stage!
Basic costs of the participants of the "real" event have caused many to shy away because of weapon and Costume costs. Not to mention the additional costs ofentrenching oneself into complete character. Knives, Leather goods,the cost of building a GOOD cart and just haveing 2 to 4 changes of clothing for different weather really ran prices way up beyond a working mans salary, Most of us have many Irons in the Fire and money goes many directions payday! The Budget for CAS usually falls in the latter sections of the cash draw.
I think that allowing this brief departure into rimfire shooting has done a world of good to promote the sport!
