Side Match 45-70

I'm a looking to get some kind of 45-75 for long range buffalo shoots (out to 1,000 yards) and side matches at CAS shoots.

Is there a semi inexpensive (around $1,000) 45-70 that can be used for both of these shoots

I have never tried to shoot a .45-70 a thousand yards, but it would seem that you would want a pretty stout round. If you are shooting a .45-70 round pretty heavily loaded you probably will want a rifle other than a trap-door. A Sharps style falling block or a Rolling Block are both strong actions. Currently CDNNINVESTMENTS.COM is selling Sharps replicas for $469.

Those $400 Sharps repros are seldom 1000 yard rifles. Prolly ok for CAS sidematches.
The Pedersoli Sharps, $700 - $1000+, are. There are a number of BPCR shooters using Pedersolis while waiting four years for their Shilohs to come in.
