Sick of Hollywood?

Is anyone out there as enraged as I am about the ridiculous depictions of armed citizens on television? Any armed citizen will either shoot the wrong person or have their gun taken from them and used against them.
The firearms are generally stored in a shoebox in the closet, scumbag drug-dealing maggots produce carry permits, and people draw their weapon when they're in a simple argument.
I know about agendas and so-forth, but for cryin' out loud, can't we get togther and produce a show where someone actually preserves a life by drawing their weapon? Even if it's on a cheap cable channel?
I'd like to think the general pulic isn't taken in by all of this bunk, but it's all they're exposed to.
Just spouting off, don't worry, I,m not shooting out the ceiling yelling "Yeeehaa!"

You've asked and answered your own question, and the answer is "no".

Hollywood is part of the entertainment industry. Until we boycott, they'll continue to be a propaganda churning machine with most players being full of themselves. Boycott the cinema and boycott TV.

I spend very little time watching TV/Cable and even less going to the movies. I can't stand the thought of putting one red cent in the pockets of these pieces of excrement. As far as I'm concerned these overpaid, egotistical, hypocritical, anti US, wacko-environmentalist, anticapitalist, unAmericans can go to you know where. I am soooo tired of listening to their causes and how the US is the cause of all the world's woes. If they don't like being here, LEAVE!!! No, this country isn't perfect but it's a hell of alot better than anywhere else I know of. So, to DiCaprio, O'Donnell, Moore, Striesand, Sarandon, Robbins, Clooney, Asner, Hilton, Lohan, and the rest of the wastes of space :barf:, I have no use for you except to shoot holes in your pictures and remember when Hollywood was a much better place with much better people.

I have not personally owned a TV in y-e-a-r-s.
When I did, I did not have cable, and just used rabbit ear antenna.
TV was used to play VHS tapes related to Education such as College Courses or other interests I had, including Self Defense, COTUS, Firearms.
I also admit liking Old Movies, such Casa Blanca, Bullitt...

Last Movie I actually went to see was Collateral.

Live Theatre is something I have always enjoyed. Pajama Tops was the last Adult and Swiss Family Robinson the last Children's Production.

Hollywood is Hollywood, and is about Hollywood.
TV is nothing more than advertising, indoctrination, and propaganda.
MisinformationNews is just a filler for ads.

I chose to let a company know why I will not be buying/ using a product or service.

I do not do Tyranny, and therefore I do not support those that support Tyranny.

Not having a TV means one less something to dust, and vacuum around.

There are those persons whom brains are nothing but dusty vacuums and are addicted to the TV and Hollywood.

Well for one thing, if everyday people used guns (or anything else for that matter) to defend themselves, then there would be no plot and no "hero" to rescue them.

For instance: family at home, they hear glass breaking and a thug crawls through window, dad grabs his shotgun and shoots/runs off the invader ... story is done and you're only five minutes into the movie ;)

Nope. Most of my favorite shows rarely, if ever, touch on the subject. There isn't much time for such things on Battlestar Galactica or Dirty Jobs or So You Think You Can Dance.

TV is worthless, Movies aren't worth much more. Too many entertain themselves when they should instead educate themselves. Besides when Danny Glover accepts sixteen million from the dictator of Venezuela to do a movie, you know that they a truly media whores.

Ohhhh, Hugo you are so huge!!!

The main problem with Hollywood is that they all delude themsleves into thinking that just because they can act like an intelligent well informed person that they actually are. Instead of being high school drop outs like most of them are.

I must admit, I do watch television. However, I keep it limitted to the History Channel and Cartoon Network. They both have their purpose, depicting what our world once was and what it is becoming. The last time I watched a news channel was to watch the debates. I much prefer to read a paper.

As far as movies, they may be stupid sometimes but I watch them solely for entertainment, when the range is closed or it's to wet for golf.

Hollywood is Hollywood, not reality. The more blood and guts, the more special effects, and the more deviant the action, the more that they make at the box office or DVD sales. Hollywood is all about the "greenbacks".

Interesting piece of trivia: Several years ago, when the "Miami Vice" TV series was still being filmed, a friend of mine was in Miami and got to watch a "shoot-out" scene that was filmed. The REAL police and movie security personnel held the on-lookers back, and there was a huge crowd of them. Anyway, "Crockett" fired his Bren-10 pistol, then did a combat load and fired some more. When the director yelled "Cut!", a group of on-lookers charged past the police and security officers, trying to get to that Bren-10 magazine that had been emptied and dropped on the ground! Why? Because "Miami Vice" had made that particular pistol very popular! The on-lookers were Bren-10 owners that wanted to get their hands on an extra magazine (Bren had shipped many of the pistols with only ONE magazine, and sometimes even that ONE was missing from the box! Those mags were like "gold", since replacements weren't available at the time!)

Many noble responses here, that is, those who never watch TV because of the content or those that watch only the shows with redeeming value.

However, there are millions of those (including me) that look for entertainment in that mindless tube. Many of those people soak up what is played out by Hollywood, seldom realizing the actuality and reality of what does occur in everyday life. The media backs them up with sensational stories of gloom and doom, death and destruction at the expense of legitimate gun owners.

Hollywood-type actors are skilled in their abstract talents, they have imagination and character. That's why they are such good actors. They do not necessarily have talent for logical thinking. Those attributes come from different sides of the brain, if you believe the research that says so, and only one side is dominant. You can't have both.

Gun advocacy is a logical point of view, in my opinion, not cohesive to emotional, overly-imaginative thought. That's why I think Hollywood is always on the opposite side of gun legislation that supports 2nd Amendment. they don't think logically.

On a different note, ignoring television is like ignoring rap music because of it's lyrics, or ignoring legislative action because the wrong party is in control. Well, not exactly like that... if you avoid television because you have better things to do, that's different. The point is, it is a fact of life and very likely affects people, in a good way and/or a bad way. Maybe we should be aware of what programming is being showed to the people. It would be good if we could find someone to support that shows it in a good way.
