Sick Blackhawk

Anyone know what Ruger charges for a new cylinder? I just dug my Blackhawk out of the closet, gave it a good cleaning and discovered that the cylinder needs replacing. The teeth on the rear that the rachet grabs are damaged, making the gun malfunction. Sometimes it locks up at half cock, other times it skips a chamber while cocking. Back to the factory, just wanna have some idea how much cash to set aside.

Give Ruger a call, they might just replace it free, never hurts to ask.

If this is an Old model "
Sometimes it locks up at half cock
then send it in for the safty job (I know but you can put the parts back in) and they should replace the cylinder on their own, I think

Im willing to bet they will repair it for free :)

I have sent guns back to Ruger, some I bought used and some new, and always had them repaired and once had one replaced, always free of charge :)

Good Luck

Is this a "one-owner" gun? Reason I ask, the only time I saw a Blackhawk in this condition was due to an absolute idiot operator. He would load the cylider, giver it a hard spin, then slam the load gate closed while cylinder was still spinning. Don't know if that could cause the condition you have, but the second time I saw that clown do that, it was ALL I could do from grabbing my 44 Super Blackhawk by the muzzle, and applying a "liberal" application of "Whomp 'em upside the head"

Yeah, one gun owner. Dad gave to me when I 16. Taught myself how to reload with it starting around age 17. Super magnums and "fanning" are surely the culprits. Still, in great shape except for the cylinder. Could use some blueing but not concerned with that now.
