no S&W purchases ever again
if you have one on layaway, see if you can get your money back
If S&W gets away with this treason then all the remaining manufacturers will cave

Let our Governments actions bankrupt S&W

its time to drop the tea in the harbor!

I just wrote an e-mail to the S&W CEO thanking him for trashing the Second Amendment. I also mentioned that I will not even be thinking about buying his product.

The only justice for a traitor is at the end of a rope!!!

dz, I know what you feel brother but think about what you are saying. S&W is the bread and butter of many a family. THE US BEAUROCRATICORG.GOV is stepping in to provide you with less take home pay so that they may further their own cause. Illegal law suits have been filed against a good company in this case and S&W is just trying to stay alive.
Whatever happend to "A Government for the people and by the people"?

All S&W did was to throw in a trigger lock and make promises that cost nothing and will have no real impact on us. Stop for a minute and consider what really occurred. Let the anti-gunners be the irrational ones here.

if you're not going to buy a Smith, what are you going to BUY??
Colt? Ruger?

its only the beginning folks...

next will be
Glock

The slippery slope is getting steeper and more slippery with each passing day!

Buy now - buy often!

what just happened?
IMHO a major gun manufacturer was extorted by a small number of our representatives into becoming an HCI poster boy.

it will not end with S&W

Maybe if there are no civilian sales of S&W products for a month or more then the other manufacturers will not cave

A few months ago, it was "Boycott Colt." A little later everyone was saying, "Ruger is a sellout, no more Rugers!" Now, it's S&W are a bunch of traitors!"

Anybody see a pattern here?

Yep, looks like "Slimey Bill," and the Democrats plans are working out just fine!

This is legislation by litigation!

One more trip around the Constitution to further the gun-grabbing agenda.

What really fries me is that there seems to have been no peep from congress.

I'll bet the liberals in DC are just wetting themselves with excitement over this development.

John/az, this isn't legislation. It's executive order (to that sleazeball Cuomo). Clinton circumvented congress and the entire legislative process. Same procedure used in the Escalante Steps land grab, except he brought in some "muscle" to make S&W an offer they couldn't refuse.

Why can't we get this *)&&**%@# on a RICO statute violation?

I thought what precipitated this settlement was that HUD was threatening to sue.

Is that wrong, then?

Why isn't anybody writing to congress and screaming about this extortion and bullying by the white house and the anti's?
Seems that S&W was victim of extorsion. and nobody seems to wanna put the blame on congress. Using lawsuits in an attempt to get someone to do what you want is illegal last time I checked.

Swatman,

I already wrote them this morning.

Just read the agreement. It's a complete capitualtion to everything that the anti's are calling for. S&W says it doesn't infringe on the 2nd...such a blatant mis-statement I'm speechless. Just sent this to the CEO:

---

I just read your agreement with the federal government. You claim that the agreement "will not sacrifice the Second Amendment rights of gun owners" - a falsehood obvious to even a casual reader. The agreement in essence implements numerous infringements (too many to address) on the right to bear arms. While these infringements are "voluntary" by S&W, and are limited to S&W firearms, they encroach upon the right to bear arms as anyone seeking to keep and bear S&W firearms will be subject to the infringements within the agreement. Should such an agreement be made by other major manufacturers, there will be a de facto broad abridgement of the Second Amendment.

I do understand that S&W is in a tight spot, and sympathize with the predicament. I cannot, however, support the solution as it aids the implementation of a federal abridgement of basic human rights via an end-run around the law. As such, I must sadly refrain from purchasing or recommending S&W products until the agreement is terminated.
