Shrike Break-In and Other Advice

Tomorrow I'm finally picking up my M16 lower and will be mounting my NIB Shrike upper.

Does anyone have any advice on the Shrike in general or on breaking it in?

The manual states a 200 rd break-in period before using the belt-fed portion. Should I do that on full-auto or semi?

Should I liberally apply CLP to it like I would a M240B or a SAW?

I don't know about the Shrike but I'll tell you my experience with my 23e

Start with good quality 5.56 ammo. At first, my belt fed liked Winchester and nothing else.

Before shooting, take it apart, clean it and lube it well but don't drown it.

Don't go directly to full auto fire. The parts have to wear in together. Shoot it on semi for the first 100 rounds.

Go to the hardware store and get one of those magnetic clean up sticks. The kind for picking up nails from a job site. It makes picking up your M27 links a lot easier!

Oh, and we need pics!
