Show or tell: Revolvers for a semi-auto guy

What kind of revolvers would you recommend in semi-auto calibers.

I know there are some great 9mm, 10mm, 45acp revolvers out there. Show me or tell me about them!

Are there any other calibers I'm missing? .32ACP, .25ACP?

I saw this beautiful 45ACP 1955 target on Gunbroker

Those 1955's are beautiful guns. Mine was one of the few guns I've sold that I wish I had back. Wife and kids needed to eat though so it put food on the table for awhile. My particular example would bind up regularly with the half moon clips but was fine otherwise and flawless with auto-rim ammo. You can do a whole bunch worse than that gun you're eye balling. If the price is right of course.

Yea, I'd really love to buy it, but I'm not going to be able to buy anything until after the holidays. I'm pretty sure it won't wait for me.

Since I've got autos in .22, 32ACP, 7.62x25, 9mm, .40, and 45ACP, my long term goal is to match a revolver to every auto possible.

I've already got the .22 wheelgun.

Lets see, revolvers in semi-auto.

S&W makes a 10mm revolver, and a .45 ACP revolver. Ruger SP 101's use to be in 9mm in one model (I'm not sure if they still offer 9mm?).

What I want, is a Ruger Vaquero in .45 ACP/.45 Colt. Davidson has a special run of these, but I'm not sure if they sold out or not.

In your case, if you want DA look at the Smiths in .45 ACP and 10mm.

If single action revolver is your preference, check out the Blackhawk convertibles or special run Vaquero contertibles.

I just checked Ruger's site. the Blackhawk comed with a 9mm cyl, but it doesn't look like the SP101 does anymore. :( I'll have to see if any are available on the used market.

On the other hand, the Blackhawk is available in .30 carbine! I could get it and an M1 to go with it :)

Can't swap cylinders on a double action by just pulling out the base pin, like you do with a single action.

Nothing I'm aware of in current production in the calibers you mention. But I seem to recall that there was a European revolver chambered for .25 auto around the turn of the century (Velo Dog - early 1900's?). Not a revolver, but I have a derringer chambered for .32 auto. I'm sure that at one time or another there have been revolvers chambered for every semi-auto round. Most are likely "cheepies" - worthy of curiousity, but not for shooting. Of recent quality manufacture though (S&W, Colt & Ruger), only .45ACP and 9mm come to mind.
