Imho some of the best handling small frame pistols are those geared for ladies. Afterall, we guys do like our single stack 1911s and occasionally complaing about the wide Sig grips. Anybody collect those lady smiths? What about those Colt lady elites? Share some pics!

Well there not Lady Smiths or colts equivalent but they are what my ladies use. My wife's favorite, a colt officers match in 38 spl. and my mothers pistol a 1911 A1 given to her by her father when she went off to nursing school.(she was an army brat at Frankford Arsenal during WW2 always said her fav. gun was the Thompson SMG that her dad wold take her to shoot on weekend[he was in small arms development]) She is 84 now and still takes it to the range once a month and shoots. Getting a little hard for her to pull the slide to load so she's thinking about trading me for a S&W model 10.

TX,

WVSigs pic is not a P239, it's either a 228 or 229, I always get the two confused. My wife's gun is a P239 but it's not specifically a "ladies model" (whatever that is, pink grips?). However, as far as the P Series goes, some might say the 239 is lady friendly because of its slim grip. My wife likes it for the easy to manipulate slide, the excellent D/A trigger and the easy to acquire sight picture. Also, even with stout .9mm loads it's a soft shooter.

Sharpsdressed Man, man you know how to treat a lady, that Colt is impressive. Coming from a die hard S&W revolver guy that says something. I hope your wife has enjoyed it.

Freakin A+....that's beautiful Shrapdressed man. If she can shoot that steel anywhere as good as it looks, be careful my friend........

She shot in a bowling pin match about a year ago. I think her time was about 7-9 seconds. Not blistering fast, but she doesn't miss too often. Slow but sure. About 28 years ago, we shot pins in NW Colorado with a local bunch, and she was shooting a .45 then. She one time beat a lesser known gunwriter and local deputy, Dalton Carr. They had moved the pins back to 20-25 yards, so slow and deliberate had an advantage. Dalton had just come back from Gunsite, and he was strung a little tight.....possibly too much thrown at him too fast...I think it was his third time there. Boy did the guys give him a hard time when the only GIRL shooting beat him on that run! The pistol above is a .38 Super.

It's a P228; if you look close you can read it on the grip

Yes it is a Sig P228. Nothing girly about the setup. 17+1 124 Gr +P Gold dots is serious business no matter what gender you are. Her hands are bigger than mine and she shoots the P228 well.

:D

I don't own it anymore,,,

Because a lady friend of mine fired it at the range,,,
Then said, "Please sell me this pistol."

3" LadySmith in .38 Special.

I really didn't have any need for the gun,,,
I bought it on a whim because the deal was so sweet,,,
So I sold it to my friend for what I paid for it plus transfer fee.

She's happy. :)
