shoulder stock for 1858 Rem

I picked up a used shoulder stock but it didn't have the longer hammer screw with it so it can attach to the frame. Anyone know where I can pick one up for a pietta remmie? Didn't see any at VTI gun parts. Might have to fabricate one myself.

Pictures would help. I have never seen an M1858 Remington designed for a shoulder stock, the 2 I have are definitely not made to take them.

I'd give VTI a call- they don't list everything on their site. They usually have hard to get parts, but are the most expensive.

I also believe that Taylors was going to import some, but I don't know about parts. Cabelas is marketing some IIRC for the "buntline" 1858's...but they don't sell parts. Give Dixie a call too, as I've found that they can't catalog all the parts they have.

Thanks Andy I'll give that a try.

SIG - I have a Buffalo model remmie with 12" barrel. They have the groove cut for a shoulder stock. I picked this stock up in the UK (still here) and am hoping it was made for a pietta, else I'll have some fitting to do.

I called VTI. They didn't have a screw and nut specifically for the 1858 buffalo model, but they compared the 1851 Navy hammer screw and a regular 1858 hammer screw and said they seem identical, head size, thread, etc. They're sending me an 1851 Navy shoulder stock hammer screw and nut, free of charge, and want feedback as to how it works out for me. What a good company!

I'll need to let VTI know that the hammer screw and nut for the 51 Navy fits the 58 Remmie perfectly..

You think I have a thing for '58 NMA revolvers?
