Should We LET Gore Win This Election?

Perhaps Gore should win this debacle of an election. If history is any guide, the next President will have a rocky ride, to say the least. For Dubya to stand up and secede the election to Sawdust Head citing the Constitution and respect for the rule of law and the desire to unify the nation, GWB will be the hero, the stand-up man who put the good of the nation ahead of his own. Gwhore on the other hand, will appear like the spoiled power hungry child he really is.

The next President will in all likelihood be sworn in a Lame Duck, a President who wouldn’t be able to even pass water. The 1960 election with Nixon seceding to Kennedy comes to mind. A very narrow margin separated the two. Nixon took the high road and gave Kennedy the win. For all of the mystique of JFK, his short administration only enjoyed limited success with the LBJ administration pushing through much of Kennedy’s legislation.

With an economy appearing to begin a slow-down, let Gwhore take the heat and the fall. Bush will have the honor and respect as someone who is a true public servant, not someone who’s true motives were made clear through the actions pursued during a time that had the potential to become a Constitutional crisis. The reputation of GWB would be enhanced, preparing him for the next run, while Gwhore would be a weak, one-term footnote in history.

The political advantages to a Gore victory are:
1) Gore is the standard bearer for the Democratic Party. This means that:

2) Hillary won't try for the Presidency until '08, so that we can

3) Get a real adult to lead the GOP, like Alan Keyes, who can articulate the philosophy behind the Declaration of Independence and detail the relationship of the Declaration to the Constitution, which

4) Reveals all liberal/socialist/totalitarian demagoguery the unAmerican murderous twaddle that it is.

I didn't add but do want to that in my heart I do believe that Dubya will prevail over the prince of darkness. GWB received my vote and I'd be disappointed if he did stop now. I've been thinking about a Bush Presidency and the Kennedy years came to mind... comments?

I don't think we can AFFORD to let Gore win this one. This election has been a no-brainer if you are a pro-rights voter for the second amendment and all the others. Clinton/Gore, working with the NEA and a national Education Dept., have essentially "reconditioned" the young people of this country. That's why 96% think gun registration is a GOOD thing. We've got to stop the brainwashing, stop the corruption, and stop the absolute abuse of power that has flowed from this White House. If we don't, the SCOTUS is Gore's to choose, BATF will be more monstrous than ever, and thought (hate) crime legislation will be headed our way. We can't give up.

BTW, why don't I see any protestors for BUSH on TV? Do we just not care? Isn't this election worth fighting for? I guess the fight for America has already been lost :(

There were counter protesters going up against the Revoters with signs that said any idiot could use the ballot correctly.

It's not about who gets blamed for the upcoming slow economy, and it's not about preparing to fight Hillary in '04 or '08, it's about America deciding that it's time to put a person in the White House that is worthy of that office.

It's about saying NO to a man like Gore.

I've given this whole thought, the whole concept much thought... and I realized that while that idea can appeal to the logical side of your mind, I'm afraid I'll keep using the emotional side and say, 'Go Bush, Gore has lost and had best get that through that sawdust filled head of his and quit screwing around the the Constitution with this "will of the people" crap... you're done buddy... Dubya rules!'

Ok... I feel better now... this is our moment

Are we forgetting that the next prez will likely appoint Supreme Court Justices who are going to be judging our 2nd Amendment rights? Bush needs to hold out. If Gore gets in, the Supreme Court is going to be a bastion of liberalism.

NO

Next pres will set the Supreme Court for many years to come.

Kennedy may have had a short run but he did immeasurable damage to the Constitution with his executive orders allowing federal control of food distribution, banking, interstate and LOCAL transportation, communications etc etc in the event of whatever is deemed a crisis by the president.

Nikita Khrushchev predicted confidently in a speech in Bucharest, Rumania on June 19, 1962 that: " The United States will eventually fly the Communist Red Flag...the American people will hoist it themselves."

As horrible as the prospect is, I am convinced that we need to let Gore have the Presidency so that we can get an adult to lead the GOP. A Bush win means a Hillary candidacy in '04. She will wipe the floor with him. We do not have a choice between good and bad. We've got a choice between bad now and lethal later.

I think the question should be, "Will we let Gore STEAL the election?"

Ditto Guyon. I would not be near as concerned if it wasn't for the Supreme Court.
If Bush does get in after all, watch for every wacko liberal group to make headline news daily again like we havn't seen for the last eight years.

has anyone thought about the possibility of
a bill and hillary ticket in '04 ??? scary
isn't it. i guess i must always think of the
worst possible thing that could happen

Answer to the question:
Fight to win. Take no survivors.

Corollary to the Answer:
Just do it honorably. I'd prefer to loose with honor, than to take women and children hostage to assure victory

This whole discussion assumes of course that there will even be an election in '04. 4 years is an awfully long time folks. If Gore (the democrats) gets in, you can count on sweeping changes. Remember folks, this is the guy that has been preaching re-inventing the Government. So far, he's been pretty mum on just what his specific overall plans in that direction are. Frankly, this guy scares the daylights out of me. For some reason, every time I look at him, I envision the cover of "The Godfather", and wonder just who's pulling this puppet's strings.

I was reading somewhere that even though some of the SCOTUS justices were having some health problems, all are currently healthy. I would bet that if Bush got the White House, those liberal justices would make it a point to hang on until 2004 hoping another Democrat gets in.

The same was said about the conservative justices. If Gore won the WH, Rehnquist, Scalia(maybe), Stevens would not retire either.

It seems like it's one of those jobs they hate to leave.
