Should we apply the ultimate law? Stupid laws for Stupid people!

In posting a response earlier to another topic I got that "spidy sense tingle" about the sensless addition of laws we have been subjected to over the past 7+ years. I had that same tingle standing in London last year while my wife and I were standing in awe taking in the sites. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a figure hidden in the darkness of an alley who seemed to be watching us a little too closely. I grabbed my wifes arm and said "honey If we don't catch up with the rest of the herd real fast we're gonna get eaten"! We had a similar experience in Paris. Had we not been, smarter, faster, aware, and prepared to survive no matter what, we would have become a statistic. I began to think about the ultimate law, "the law of the jungle". The strong survive. What we have increasingly seen over the past 30 plus years has been an increase in "well-meaning" laws to protect those less strong. Why? Don't get me wrong some help is needed. But let's take "stupid people" and apply the ultimate law. The ultimate law applied to let's say someone not bright enough to wear a seat belt (or drive safely without one)would result in their death when they wrecked. Because of that death the Jungle becomes stronger. What does our herd do (seemingly containing a majority of "stupid")? Formulate a regulation that costs the rest of us money and inconvenience to put airbags in everyones car because "stupid" didn't and we have to be protected! I have applied the ultimate law to many of the regulations and if you do it enough it can make you "manic-depressive". Take the gun safety lock issue, "stupid" leaves a loaded gun out for a child, doesn't supervise his or her children while they make bombs, allows them to own illegally purchased guns, and learn to love Hitler, Granny takes a bag full of "locked and cocked" guns on a plane, the list goes on. What does the herd do??? I say sometimes it is good for the integrety of the herd that some of the "stupid" be sacrificed for the greater good. Instead of protecting the "stupid" let's make one last law, one that allows for the full prosecution for "public stupidity". I need protection from "stupid", there are millions of acts everyday and it is a much more serious problem than anything else we face in our society. With what we deal with today our slogan should be "America, land of 1 billion laws to protect stupid"! Ok guys, my favorite quote these days is " I have such big concepts, but such little words"! I challenge some of you who are more eloquent of words (and I know you're here cause I've read your writing) to take up the Law of the jungle V/S "stupid" and apply the concept and make it funny. I need a laugh!

I've said it before and I'll say it again "sometimes I'm so proud to be an American I could just puke"!
