Should I sell it?

I have a Savage 12BVSS in .22-250 that I NEVER use. It's fired less than 100 rounds, and now just sits in the back of the safe. I bought it with illusions of varmint shooting, but never got around to it. I should put the money into another rifle though, and probably will...So, should I?

If it's just taking up space in the safe and you KNOW that you're not going to shoot it, then yes, I would sell it. Actually, I would work out a trade for something that you WILL shoot rather than an outright sale.

I just did that very thing. I sold a rifle that was just taking up space and I'm building up two others. If you're not going to use it then sell it.

I'm all for selling guns that I will never use. I just have a policy about replacing them with another one.

Sure. I sold a beautiful Rem 700 VLS in .223 that would group .75" with factory loads. But I never shot it. At the bench I wanted to shoot my .308, and in the field, the VLS was a beast to carry. Sold it and bought a CZ 527 American. Haven't found it's favorite load yet, but my guess is it'll never be as accurate as the VLS was. But no regrets at all. I shoot the 527, and I rarely shot the 700. Like Noban said, sell one/buy one. Works for me!

I agree with what everyone has said so far, Steve.
Do it and don't give it a second thought. You don't need it. You won't miss it. Buy something you will shoot, or ammo for another firearm. Celebrate July 9th.

If its not a firearm that's going to appreciate in value, you don't use it, you don't need a back up rifle for hunting trips, and you don't have a son-daughter-spouse to pass it on to, then sell it.

Make sure you put the money into something you can cash out for the next time you feel the need.
