Should I buy?

A quick question for those with the time and inclination to respond: I have the opportunity to buy a slightly used Kahr MK9 (short barrel, short grip) stainless for $380, unmodified, in box with magazines etc. A cop bought it for his wife and she didn't like the recoil. I'm thinking about it for a micro-carry gun for myself and/or my wife (though I don't imagine she'll like it much more than it's current owner does).

Any thoughts? Was there a problem with MK9's or MK40's, or was it just an early run that had glitches? I know they don't like reloads and might be finicky about certain ammo. Do they run well on a "healthy diet?"

Thanks,
BVT

Go for it. That's not a bad price, though you might try haggling down a little more, as I believe that's very close to L/E cost.

If I had the money right now, I'd buy it.

Thanks, Blades. Is there anywhere on the web where one can research wholesale/LE cost/etc.? I know dealers need to make a profit - I've been in sales. I just want as much info as possible.

Anybody else have an opinion on a $380 Kahr MK9 in very good condition?

Only you can answer that question. Do you think about this gun, do you plot and plan and scheme to find an excuse to buy it. Can you live with out it? If so don't buy it. If it is a must have kind of gun, then go for it.... :)

Excellent ankle gun and not a bad pocket pistol if you have strong enough pants to carry it. I love mine and carry it more than just about any gun I own. The only thing to watch for is the early guns with the prefix GA and serial number less than 1000. Anything after that will have all the updates.

I'm buying the Kahr. It's $380 private sale. I'll post a review at a later date.

I also found a Glock 27, used in good shape, for $389.95 plus tax with two Scherer plus-one floorplate/pinky hangers. I figure that deal is more likely to come around again than the Kahr. If anyone's interested in the Glock, it's at Powderhorn Sports in Williston, Vermont. All FFL rules apply.

Thanks for the input.
