Should I Buy a 229 Sport in .40 and 357?

My dealer has an all SS P229 with a .40 barrel. It also come with a .357 barrel that is about 5" long and has a barrel weight on it.
I'm trying to convince myself to buy it, but am not sure why. (It's around $1,000.)

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Steve

Steve,
I've never shot one before but looked at them plenty of times...I've had a couple of regular 229's in the past & the 357 barrel was extremely accurate...I would imagine the sport model has to be super accurate because of the extra barrel length and weight...The SA trigger on those things are very sweet...

I say if you have the money & dont need it for bills then get it...If you dont like it you can always sell it later on...Maybe if you haggle with the dealer or whoever you may be able to get a lower price...Good luck...Take care...:)

It called the P229SC package it comes with a Stainless steel frame versus the normal alloy frame. A normal "carry" slide with a .40S&W bbl in it. It also comes with a sport slide with a .357SIG bbl. the two bbls are NOT interchangable between the slides. The .357 bbl is longer. And the thing at the end of the slide ISN'T a bbl weight... While it does weigh something it's primary function in life is a compensator. Look on the top. Suprise! There's holes in it! I think it's defective... Better send it to me...

My 229 sport is accurate and easy to shoot, but it sure is accurate. These are great guns, well made and very very accurate.

Get the gun, it is fun to shoot, and hot little 88 grn JHP's with AA9 draws a bunch of looks at the range from the raw blast you get off the comp!
