Should a S&W Mod 49 Bodyguard have these parts?

Should a S&W Mod 49 (no dash) have parts 4 and 6, by the extractor spring? (see pic)

The pic is from Numrich, but it's for more than J-frame revolvers.

Their parts list doesn't list parts 4 or 6 for the 49, but that might be because they don't have them.

The design now places these parts intregal with the cylinder assembly, older exploded diagram shown.
Ibmikey, do you know since when, approx?

I am asking because I just checked a friend's 649-2. It has part 4 (Extractor Rod Collar), but no part 6 (Gas Ring).

Part 6 was lost, or, as you said, it is intregal with the cylinder assembly. How can I check if it is integral?

During The first S&W Revolver course I attended in 1971 we built Model 10 revolvers referring back to my manual I find the collar as a separate unit and the gas seal built into the cylinder. The front of the cylinder has the gas seal machined into it and will form a collar that the yoke slides into. I believe the cylinders have been made that way since the fifties.
