Dear all,
I have a hard time understanding about shotgun ammunition. There are the bird shotshell, buckshot shell etc. I thought the numbers per load is standardise throughout the industry however, recently I found that even ammo with the same number will have different pellet count. Can we say 00 is always a 9 pellet??
Really appreciate if someone could educate me in this subject and explain the shotshell terminology as highlighted below. Any site to visit.
Buckshot
Index Guage Shell Powder Velocity Buckshot pellet
No. Length Dr.Eq. fps size count
12HN 12 3" 4 1210 00 15
12SN 12 2 3/4" 4 1290 00 12
12N 12 2 3/4" 3 3/4 1325 00 9
20N3 20 2 3/4" 2 3/4 1200 3 20
In general, what ammo does your local Law enforcement use for duty. Do they choke their barrel?? Where do they fire on an adversary, centre mass or at his kneels ???
