Shotgun shell length

I own a Rossi 410 28" chambered for 3" standard and magnum. Will using 2 1/2 " shells affecting the shot accuracy much?

Having NEVER seen a 28 gauge 3" shell.....(though I suspect that possibly someone might make one), using one shorter is OK to do so, as my friend Zippy has advised. It is always OK to go shorter, not longer......remember that shell length is the FIRED length, so an unfired 2-3/4 will fit in a 2-1/2" chamber, so be careful with older guns

One Ounce....... LOL......... but the op said a 28" ........ referring to the barrel I'm pretty sure......

+1 to you though for 'shorter is better' .......
