Shotgun ID

A friend of mine showed me an old beat up side by side that he inherited but we can't figure out who made it. The only markings are as follow:

A rectangle with an elongated diamond inside it. Inside the diamond are the letters XLCR. Through the letters and the diamond is an arrow.

Except for various numbers this is the only marking on the gun.
