Can you use a Winchester model 97, or more precisely a "Chin-Chester" clone thereof, in it's wwI trench gun guise without having to take the heat shield and bayonet lug off in CAS?
local gun clubs want you to show up and shoot....after a while you would be expected to get a little more period correct with equipment and dress. so eventually you should ditch the shield. bobn
It depends on if you are showing up for a national match or just a monthly local shoot. At local clubs they wouldn't have any problem at all. And even at national matches I would be surprised if anyone gave you a hard time. It's just not that cantakerous a group of guys and girls.
