More of a rifle man myself but looking for a home defense shotgun. Some items that I would PREFER, but not a must

1. 18" or 18.5" barrel
2. pistol grip with fixed or adjustable stock
3. price not a concern
4. semi preferred over pump
5. 12 ga

Anything else you need to know?

I really wouldn't recommend a pistolgrip on a shotgun. It hurts, it impedes aiming, and if it weren't for Hollywood, no one would want it.
Besides, I think a PG might actually jam a semi if you "limpwrist" it or something. Someone more knowledgeable than me knows this better than me.

How about a Benelli M1 / M3 / M4, or Remington 1100 / 1187 ?
Cant go wrong with any of'em.

Most important is to BA/UU/R.

Buy Ammo, Use Up, Repeat.

I was going to get a Benelli M2, then I found my baby. For only 500 bucks, I picked up a brand new 870 Tactical magnum. Couldn't be more pleased. But since you want a semi and price is not an issue, go for the Benelli M4.

My pistol grip does not hurt either.

Remington 870 or 870P with a Knoxx Comp Stock.
Mine is an 870 Express HD that will get a comp stock when I get around to it.

Edit: Whoops, I missed the semi part. Take a look at Remington 1100 and 11-87.

That statement had some truth to it. Sadly though it was just the last line! A pistol grip with a fixed or adjustable stock, like the poster originally stated, would be a good thing. It would actually help tame recoil and it wouldn't really matter if you limp wristed it because the gun would also be in contact with your shoulder. If you want a pistol grip then go for it. However, I wouldn't recommend just a pistol grip. They are a pain, literally, to shoot and they serve no useful purpose.
