Shotgun Case

Hi Y'All,

Any recommendations a good pistol grip shotgun case? I saw the TacStar one online and I can't say much about it. Thanks.

Depends on what you need it for.

If you're going to be doing a lot of traveling, get a Pelican. That said, I have no idea why you'd be doing a lot of traveling with a PG shotgun.

I like the cheapo Planos myself. Basically, I just use them to haul long guns to the range and back. I have one nice aluminum case, but I only own it because it came free with a shotgun. My shotguns are hunters, so all I'm really worried about is keeping the gun from getting too banged up. Mostly I just use a soft case.
 
Guyon, thanks for replying. I had a softcase in mine. You're right, I have no plans about travelling long distances with a PG shotgun :)

Anyway, I was thinking about something like those assault rifle cases. Only one I've seen is the TacStar and I was just wondering if there are other options. I think Boyt's might have one too.

Eagle and Blackhawk (virtually same product/different name) make the best soft cases for assault/tactical weapons. Get on their websites and view their products. Your local dealer can order the stuff for you and can usually save you 10% or so off retail prices and still make a profit. I have the Eagle shotgun cases in two different lengths (one pistol grip, one full stock) and the Blackhawk rifle case for my M1A. I expect these cases to outlive my grandkids (which probably won't even be born for another 20 or 30 years).
 
I knew that someone would warn about Botach, sheesh,
Been buying from them mail-order for years. So have my friends as well as LE community. They have the best prices around, period.

I know of some people who got miffed when Botach closed it's 'walk-in' business, since it was uneconomical. Sure, they can make mistakes, I once had a mistake made in an order -which was corrected by placing one phone call to them.

I don't know of anyone who has actually gotten screwed by them.
 
I just ordered a Boyt Harness case for my newly purchased Defender. Price seems pretty competitive compared to others I've seen (seems like a limited choice in "short" shotgun cases). I haven't received it yet so I will post a follow up. BTW, here is the link.
