Shot the new beretta "Jetfire" last weekend.

I had a great time at the range last sunday. (Until the damn bee stung me!) Began with the Bushmaster Shorty, went to my Glock, then Colt Mustang, and finally my new Jetfire. I know it's a .25, but it sure seemed to have more power than a .22LR. (Which I have heard is more powerful.)
I tried a variety of ammunition and the little Jetfire didn't miss a beat. I like this tiny pistol. I put it in my pocket tonight as I went to a dark mailbox. (Of course my Glock 27 was on my hip!)
Does anyone else feel that their .25 is stronger than the .22 rimfire? I'd like to think I made the right decision in going with the .25 over the .22. (It's not my only "mousegun". I have a Kel-Tec P-32 and a NAA Guardian.)

Thanks,
Will

When you say "stronger," you're talking about more powerful, more foot-pounds delivered on target? Sure, why not? I've seen lots of different numbers for the .25 acp vs. the .22 lr out of short autos, and the ultra-premium specialty .25 acp (mag-safe, etc.) seems like it outperforms (in terms of energy on target - not necessarily penetration - that's too much of a scenario-specific call) the .22 lr premium ammo. OTOH it costs a pile more.

I went with a .25 instead of a .22 years ago more for the reliability of the cartridge ignition, a factor I rarely hear discussed on these forums. I was on the college rifle and pistol teams, and let me tell you, rimfire ignition is not as assured as centerfire. When I pulled the trigger on my mousegun, I wanted to hear a pop! So, like you, I picked up a Beretta 950 BS in .25 acp and loaded it up with magsafes.

Frankly, I don't carry it anymore, tho. It just doesn't seem like enough gun. It's real fun to shoot, tho, but way more expensive than my .22s.

cheers,
erich

I know that it is a subjective thing, but to me the .25 caliber seems more powerful than the .22. When I pull the trigger my hand gets a "whack". There also seems to be a little more of a report. I always seem to be in search of the perfect pocket pistol. So far I have a Kel-Tec P-32, NAA Guardian, NAA Mini, and the Beretta Jetfire. I like to have one of these little guns in my pocket and something larger on my hip. (I like Glocks.)
