Shot size BB ??? And Band-tailed Pigeons ???

Is the shot size BB the same size as the BBs that we run through my sons BB gun? And if so, can I use them for reloading? Got a ton of them lying around, and hoping to get some good distance shot for Band-tailed Pigeons here in the next few weeks? Any other suggestions for hunting Band-tailed Pigeons would be greatly appreciated.

The diameter is about the same, but the stuff that works in that old Red Ryder is not lead, but some mystery alloy and plating that will act more like steel shot.

And for any sort of pigeon, you'll do better with with lead 6s, 7 1/2s,even 8s.

I wouldn't use those BBs.....

Steel BB's are a bit hard for a shotgun barrel and will do damage over time even if you use the proper wads. Not only do you need special wads for steel shot but the powder choices become far more limited as well as the available data.

Do yourself a favor and leave the Daisy and Crossman products for use in Daisy and Crossman products.

universal

I read once that w/ #6 lead (there was no steel shot in those days) one could hunt nearly every feathered and furred small game critter in in the world.

But.......I would like to find some lead BB to use on coyotes!!!!!!!
