Shot shell advice

The Judge.

I tried 38 cal shot shells on snakes with, they are useless. I'll stick to my LSWCs out of my 642.

My wife uses a judge with 410s while horse back riding. She got a couple, one coming up our drive way.

the only options for useful shotshell work on anything really is either a shotgun, or a judge or even a governer using an actual shot shell. however a 22lr rifle loaded with cci or federal shotshells is good.

.45Colt will work for snake shot. But at the ranges they work at it might be better to just use a .22 and learn to shoot well.

Well ,everything works within reason ,range of the CCI loaded shotshells is probably 15ft or so , pattern degregation & the size of shot (#9) loose energy fast !!

But the biggest problem I have with the capsules is they slide out & bind the cyl or break & dump the shot load !!!

I form shotshells from 357 MAX brass to be "Full Cyl. Length" in my GPs ,It carrys almost twice the #9 load plus ya got room to go up in shot size ,even though bigger shot will mean sparser patterns the energy of the pellet extends the range somewhat !!!

Here`s a pic of the round sealed with a cereal box card & water proof carpenters glue .

Wanted to add: the snubbies will pattern better than a long barrel, less time to start spinning .
