Okay I just got back from shooting my GP100 357 mag! It is amazing! I love this gun for sure! I was almost converted all the way to revolver with my lasty purchase of a S&W 642 but this Ruger is a joy to shoot. I had never shot a 357 (only 38 special+p) and was worried about kick. Let me tell you the ONLY thing that kept me from shooting all day is lack of money for more rounds. I LOVE MAGNUM ROUNDS! This gun handles them with ease and makes it comfy for me. Anyway yeah I love it. :)

Glad you like it ... The GP100 is a great gun. I love the .357Mag rounds too .... just remember to wear ear protection :)

I'm glad for you. I had the same experience, learning about magnum rounds with the GP-100. It's a perfect, I repeat, perfect gun, for shooting .357 magnum. I've fired a wide variety of factory ammo out of this gun, and it shoots them all very comfortably. 38s are almost pointless in this gun.

I buy the Magtech 158s by the case from midwayusa.com, and they shoot great. They are also the cheapest 357s I've found. If you've got the money, buy a case of these buggers and start building your stash. At about $10 per box, by the case, I think this is the best deal going in this caliber.

Also, If you haven't used it before, get some Break-Free CLP and spray it around the gun liberally. This stuff really loosens up the cylinder rotation and the action. When it got cold here in MN, my GP tightened up, and the cylinder would not open or rotate without some force. After a dose of CLP, it's smooth as silk.

yeah

I got some breakfree. I like it so much more than the old Hoppes smelly toxic solvant. It still says toxic if swallowed and use proper ventilation but it is worlds better. I used it all over the outside of the gun too and the Stainless steel shined up so nice. I am loving it so far.

Glad you love it! I really enjoy shooting full-house .357's out of my 3" GP, that gun is definitely a keeper.
