Shot my Maadi AK for the first time...

Just hauled it into the woods and pot shot at trees, and such. Don't have a range or anything, so I didn't zero, but I can tell the front sight post needs adjusting, as my shots were off even at close range. Now, all I need to do is order the front sight adjusting tool and wait until it gets here. *sigh*

You feel the recoil in the trigger. It suprised me at first, but you get used to it. I hadn't shot an AK in over a year, so I had forgotten about that.

7.62x39mm hollow point can moiderize an old video tape, let me tell you. ("I give this one TWO THUMBS DOWN!" BLAM BLAM BLAM)

Treehuggers?

Well, just don't hug the opposite side of the tree I'm shootin' at.

Besides. They're MY trees on MY property and I can put as much lead into 'em as I darn well please. And half of 'em are dead anyway. LOL

NOTE TO SELF: AK has smaller handguard than what you're used to.

SECOND NOTE TO SELF: Get ice cubes for barrel burns on fingers.

*sigh*

At least I didn't let the recoiling charging handle smack me in the thumb this time.

Does anybody know how I can adjust the front sight post? It's too far to the left, I think.

Good news: a sight tool should fix your sight problem.

Bad news: the front post is going to be way to one side of the front sight hood. This is a known problem we lovingly call "MAADI Syndrome." I have yet to see a MAADI with the front sights on straight.

My Maadi will shoot pretty well. I only got out to 25m, but it put 3 shots in 1 hole, which is reeeeeallly good for me with iron sights. Betcha love it.
