I have a Rossie over land 12 gage 30 in Barral with exposed Hammers side by side they call it a Coach gun ,
I used it 2 times since i bought it new back in the 70s and never used it agan

.I shot 12 gage mag to trim my tree it works. The cost to have a trimmer or the shot gun back then was cheaper now of course you have to live in the counrty Now my old Rosse is worth more then i paid for it .

We were shooting branches from a nearly dead tree by our range this past year.... not sure that it was effective trimming....

...and since Im a Tree Trimmer by trade... I dont think its healthy trimming methods for the tree.

... Was fun tho.

Reminds me of the Simpsons when homer joins the NRA and uses his gun for everything. Opening his beer, changing the channel, doing the dishes.

P.s. its a weapon, not a gardening tool.....

The Four Rules

1. All guns are always loaded.
2. Never point the gun at anything you are not willing to destroy.
3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target.
4. Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.

So how does shooting up in the air at a tree branch work with #4?

(edit: Then again I suppose with a shotgun it's not much different from birding.)

ZeSpectre. Are you talking about trimming a tree with or without a hugger sitting in it? It is only sporting to give them time to get to an upper branch.
