In terms of odds re hitting or missing the target, is there any difference between #6 and #9 shot in 28 gauge?

What factors determine choice of shot for clay targets?

28g for clay

Mine are what they come loaded with. A few years ago I found some Remington 28g shells in a sporting goods shop that were advertised for sale at $50 a case - these were loaded with #9. I bought 5 cases (all they had) and they break clay targets very nicely. I've never tried any #6 shot in my 28g guns.

clubs usually restrict to no larger than #7.5

28 ga , very effective for bore size, for skeet, bird hunting, spl 5 stand...I always used #8 personally-with high antimony. In all gauges for skeet. split the cost of a pallet with buds.

3/4 oz means #9 ~439 pellets
#6~168 pellets

step back 21 yds, shoot pattern board with both,
pattern boards good tool.

I wanted something heavier, #8, but still pellet count (308) wind, rain...helps a bit
