Shot an autoloader 12ga for the first time yesterday...

...It was a Winchester model, 28" ventilated rib barrel, magazine tube crimped so it only held three rounds.

The thing was FUN. I want something like it. But I don't know much about shotguns. So here's the shotgun setup I'd really really like.

-12 guage autoloader
-Two barrels: 18-20" and a 28" one, preferably with sights, preferably rifled (for slugs)
-Magazine tubes. Something like 6 rounds for the short barrel, 10 rounds for the long one

Can I build this from, say, a Remington 1100. I think they sell Remington 1100 20" barrels in Cabela's.

Just looked in my Cabella's catalog....

They have everything you need to do what I'd like with a Remington 1100!

-Rem 1100 20-21" Barrels, rifled, rifle sights: $184.99
-Rem 1100 7-round magazine tube: $34.99 (for the short barrel)
-Rem 1100 10-round magazine tube: $39.99 (for the 28" barrel)

Now, all I need is a few hundred bucks. Anybody wanna make a donation? :D

More Questions

I did some research and found out just to be safe, legalwise, I should not put a folding stock on an autoloader. Okie dokie, I can live with that. Now.

I've read that the 11-87 is a more reliable shotgun than the 1100. But can I get the same accessories for the 11-87 (the short barrel, the 7, and the 10 round magazine tube? What about barrels with sights?) as I can for the 1100?

Can anybody post a pic of an 1100, 11-87, or similar autoloader with the 10 round tube? I'm curious.

Thanks!
