Went to Shoot Smart in Grand Prairie, TX today to finally do some shooting. I'd been neglecting my .22 LR guns and my .45 ACP pistols. When checking in, I asked if they had a 43X to rent. Sure enough they did. I got a private booth and spent about 1.5 hours shooting.
Shot a box of 50 9mm through the 43X. Every shot went bang. No problems there. Magazine fed all 10 rounds 5 times with no hiccups. It had more jump than I was used to though. I felt more recoil from it than I did shooting my Shield .45 acp or my Mod 2 subcompact .45 acp. Also, the safety trigger would not smooth out so it felt that the pad of my finger was getting stabbed by the safety in the trigger. I could feel the bump. I don't know if this makes any sense, but I won't be getting a 43X. It did not appeal to me at all.
All in all, a day at the range is a great day!
