M mapsjanhere New member Nov 28, 2009 #6 The SKS only starts out with a 20" barrel, so you only have 4" to play with before the gentlemen of the BATF would like to talk to you. But if you really mess it up, a replacement barrel should be $50 or less, so it's not too risky a game.
