Shorten plastic 870 stock with saw ?

I was hoping I could saw off about 1 1/4" of the black plastic stock that comes with my Rem. 870 Exp. Mag. Will there be enough material left to screw in the recoil pad?

The stock isn't solid all the way through skeeter.

I don't think you want to be cutting off the end of your stock. You would be better off looking for a shorter "Youth" type stock for your gun unless you don't mind putting a pistol grip type of setup on her at which time I would recommend a AR15 type retractable stock, or my personal favorite a KNOXX adjustable stock for it.
