Short-chambered match barrels for Rem 700?

I'm considering doing a short-chambered barrel (doing the finish reaming/headspace) instead of a "Remage" conversion for my son's 700 for Xmas.

But from what I'm seeing so far, the short-chambered barrels don't seem to save any $$ when compared to just using the barrel nut system to set the headspace for the new barrel. I'll save the cost of the barrel nut, but seems that's it.

Anyone know of a source for a short-chambered, match grade barrel in .260 or 6.5 Creedmore for less than three bills (that's the cost of the Remage from CBI)?

Thanks, but the Pac-Nors require a lathe to set back the shoulder, to headspace. Doesn't seem to be much available in short-chamber for a DIY job.

Going to do the Remage conversion with the barrel nut.

Short-chambered barrels aren't any cheaper, and I'd need to rent/buy a reamer anyway.

I'm kinda surprised that the system isn't more popular. Savage has proven that there's no cost to accuracy for the barrel nut system; their rifles are as accurate as anyone elses...and I'd argue, more so...
