Shooting vests? Name brand xmas gift hints?

Paging through Cabella's Fall catalogue tonight and it occurred to me that while most of us probably have a servicable vest it is time to start dropping xmas gift hints.

I have never seen a thread w/TFLers commenting on their experiences and recommendations. What's the best line out there? While the primary use is for handgun target practice I'd also like to use in the occasional trap/dove outing.

Is there an all-around outdoor vest that can double for shooting/fishing?

I'm happywith my Fox Outdoor "Photojournalist" vest. I use it for range duty and now that I have the correct size occasional CCW.Plenty of pockets to hold shotgun sheels if ou want to wear it for trap shooting. You can see it at US CAVALARY.

Botach has an exceptional price on the Royal Robbin's Go anyplace vest - $29.00 dollars! MSRP is bout double that. Received mine, absolutely love it.

Check out a RR 5.11 TACTICAL!! vest. For range work, it has some elastic one size fits all pistol magazine loops on the left side, and two long gun one size fits all (not sure if it'll fit an AK) pouches on the right side. Each pouch holds about 15 shotshells, a .308 mag, and not sure how many .223 mags.

Chris....

You southern gentlemen sure have expensive tastes in vests!!!
$285 for the Tilley?
Don't mind upscale vest if it did dual duty as shooting and fishing vest!

Columbia makes a photojournalists' vest that is very comparable to the Tilley (comparing mine with the pic on the site) and it is very well made. The kids got me one four years ago, and it will probably never need to be replaced.
