Shooting the .40 Caliber Bucks County Rifle

Yes, sir, that is the way a flintlock is supposed to fire, "BOOM, not "Swish, Boom," as so many think they do. I miss my 1790s style .50 cal flinter with a 47" swamped Getz barrel.

The main secret is using real black powder, leave the Pyrodex and 777 to the caplock shooters.
It's a shame that real traditional black powder or as I prefer to call it "gunpowder" is so hard to buy in so many places today.
I was at a shoot and a new shooter was shooting his flintlock with 777. I gave him some real black powder to try and he was amazed at how fast the gun now went off.

The more I shoot real black powder, the more I appreciate how terrible it is not.

Thanks, mate

Duelist,
I'd like to thank you for all the videos, and say congrats on the new shooting den.
I watch as many as I can, and love them all.
Cheers,
Norm
