Shooting Sling (NOT carry strap)

I am slowly progressing from a trigger puller to a shooter....

I've been looking for a good shooting sling to use on my hunting rifle. The Whelen style looks favorable. Hunter Leather makes a nicely-priced 1" Whelen style sling. I've also been pointed toward the Latigo by Brownells. It comes in 1" and 1-1/4" widths.

Being that I've never used a sling for anything more than hanging a rifle from my shoulder- and the occasional "hasty sling" - I would like to hear opinions on the various shooting slings available. I will need something fairly simple and streamlined since it is for a sporter.

Thanks,
NAte

If you want a great hunting and all around sling, you want to get a "Ching Sling" . Its the quickest sling to get into action for hunting or shooting. Theres no fiddling with it, just put your arm thru it and your slung up. You do need to add an extra swivel stud just ahead of the mag well on your stock. Its not hard, and you can do it yourself. Here's a link that explains it.
